J. Andrew Colgan, D.D.S.

Dr. J. Andrew Colgan was raised in Newtown, Connecticut and earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Boston College. He then obtained his Doctorate Degree at the University of Maryland, where he received the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Outstanding Achievement award.

After obtaining his doctorate degree, Dr. Colgan completed seven years of hospital-based surgical and medical training, which enables him to perform a wide range of procedures including surgery of both the bones and soft tissues of the face, mouth, and neck.

Dr. Colgan completed surgical internships at The University of Miami Medical School, Jackson Memorial Hospital and The University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Subsequently, Dr. Colgan was accepted into The University of Oklahoma and its prestigious program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During his residency training Dr. Colgan received graduate training in disciplines such as general surgery, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, head and neck cancer/reconstructive surgery, internal medicine, anesthesiology, pathology, and other medical specialty areas.

Dr. Colgan is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has a demonstrated commitment to continued professional development. Dr. Colgan is Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is an an active member of  the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He strives to provide you with the most comprehensive and expert care available. Dr. Colgan is currently privileged at Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida.

While in residency in Miami, Dr. Colgan met and was married to his wife Alexis, who completed her nursing degree at the University of Oklahoma. They are proud to call Vero Beach their home and are pleased to present Vero Beach Surgical Arts Center for Facial and Oral Surgery, which opened in October of 2003.
